Wow. That was short.
I felt I had to vent, already.
Who are these people?
The ones who say they’re so sick in the beginning of pregnancy. I’ve been surfing pregnancy sites. And forums. And some say they can only subsist off strawberries, watermelon and cucumbers…oh the horror of eating too much fruit or too many veggies. Better watch the weight there. Don’t wanna overdue that. Put the radish down, and step away from the produce stand.
I’m not that sick now. Have been, with other pregnancies. Now, I just wanna lay down, maybe gag a bit. Keep drinking and eating to keep the worst at bay. But what do I feel goes down best? Barbecue sandwiches…the smoked pulled pork and Carolina sauce kind. Maybe a cheeseburger. Creamy potato soup in a bread bowl. And eat the bowl. Um, taco dip with tortilla chips. Cheddar cheese sandwiches. Heavy on the cheese. I made a meat lasagne. It was good the first night. The leftovers make me wanna hurl. Parmesan risotto yesterday. Same story on the leftovers. And for the baked potato salad from The Fresh Market. With cheese, chives, and bacon. Hey. Dug it on the 4th. Threw the rest out last night.
Not only is it fatty, but it’s wasteful.
I’ve tried fruit. Veggies. They just aren’t doing it for me. Make me gag more. Plain crackers? They’re too plain. More gagging. A chocolate milkshake wouldn’t be bad. Real Coke with sugar, for the soothing bubbles? Too sweet. Diet Coke with toxic rat killing aspartame? Pretty good. So what about doing what your body says?
This cannot be good advice in all cases. Up till 3 days ago, I still thought wine for with dinner sounded good.

All I can say is “I feel your pain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” And I totally agree and sympathize. I am SO in the same boat! Today I had Wendy’s cheeseburgers, last night was Chinese egg rolls while my yummy “allison salad” w/ feta and avacado made me gag. And to think I had plans to be so healthy w/ this pregnancy. ugh. The best laid plans are going downhill fast!
Wanna meet for lunch and eat onion rings and coleslaw tommorow? LOL.

Yeah! When I’m hungry, between my waves of nausea, I crave burgers & fries, chips, ANY spicy food (had Judge Beans tacos tonight and I’m feelin’ alright!), and ice cream (but only a couple bites). I do not want healthy food. What!? I did not say that! I had a healthy eating plan, too. But it’s not working out so well, now.

oh, for me it was all the fatty stuff too. I remember when Jeanette and I were pregnant at the same time, we went to Arbys EVERY DAY (no lie) and got ourselves the roast beef sandwhich with arby’s sauce. We CRAVED it…really, it was a true craving…just had to have it. Every day. Maybe your body is just craving the protein in all the fat. That’s likely what it is. p.s. i’m glad you are not too sick!

Oh, I just wish I could eat, or care to eat. I force food down just so I know I doing something good for the baby. I have been able to keep down (mostly) some graham crackers - the kind with cinnamon - and some Mission chips (those white corn kind). I crave ony salt and my sodium stays low - go figure. Anyway, the weight battle I gave up on; my face is already round and my arms look like bulging sausages and I have
lovehandles where I ought to pretty and round and all baby and let’s not even discuss my rather large arse.Comment by the SmockLady — July 7, 2006 @ 8:32 am
Aaaaaaaaaaaw you’re making me all broody. Isn’t is sick when even the nasty stuff about pregnancy makes you miss being pregnant? I guess you still make it sound so doable, appealing even. I remember the “leftovers” thing. I couldn’t touch them with a 100 foot pole. Weird. You so remind me of being pregnant, and although I know it’s yucky for you, I am enjoying reading all about it again

ANything that i had to taste twice I can no longer eat. I’, running options. Once a day I totally crave something fresh and crunchy tasting, the rest of the time it’s salt and vinegar potato chips, actually potatoes of any kind, and fatty meaty, fill my stomach and take away the almost gonna barf feeling foods, which change every day. Even my beloved whole grains are letting me down, The texture is suddenly nauseating. I want this to end.
